AS A PRESENT TO MYSELF, I released this boxed set of my sci-fi quadrilogy just a couple of days ago… and I don’t know how, but it has already sold in two very separate corners of the globe! I LOVE READERS!!

As a special incentive to get you to read this… please take a look at the introduction below I added at the beginning of this series of books, which will always be very special to me! No books will ever equal these because they were my first.

Introduction to the Quadrilogy

How might an obscure Yorkshire woman get you to invest hours of your time in a series spanning more than 400,000 words? More than four continents? More than four decades? Multiple genres including romance, thriller, sci-fi and dystopia… I don’t know…!

In all honesty all I can do is to tell you what it means to me to have achieved such a series as this. I can tell you it began with a dream when I was twenty-six years old. I’m now thirty-one so you can get some picture of just how far this journey has taken me! I had this dream… and in it I saw a couple who were clearly meant to be. Yet something was stopping them being together. In the periphery of this dream I saw clearly an outer context and an elderly woman intent on bringing this pair together.

Many months passed as my brain put a bridal shop together with this theory of a future world in which hope is lost, people gave up on reproduction ‒ plus some conglomeration obsessed with scientific progression is at the core. It was maternity leave that finally gave me chance to pursue something I have loved since a very small age ‒ writing! I continually remind myself that not many people get a chance like I did to explore something I feel so passionate about. We live in a busy, busy world and I am grateful every day, that I did this. That I never gave up even when I could have done, so many times. It was mentally difficult to accomplish this series ‒ soul-searching, wringing wet tissues, doubts, fears ‒ those were the worst moments. How many ideas do people have but never follow through with? I only think it was my blind stubbornness or fate that eventually got this thing through to completion. Perhaps it was the never-ending faith my husband had in me ‒ the almighty push onwards he gave me after I jumped over every hurdle. He never gave up encouraging me.

What undoubtedly makes these books what they are and may surprise you are the characters, which took me on their journey, sweeping me along for the ride. They exploded from my mind so quickly, spilling their stories page after page. I couldn’t keep up with them sometimes, it was an immense adventure-a-minute trying to!

When I think of writing this series, I will recall nappy changes, sleepless nights, late-night talks with my husband about plots, characters, possibilities… always endless possibilities. I will recall music that kept me going throughout writing sessions. When I hear certain tracks on the radio I say to myself, “That is a Ryken and Seraph song.” Or, you know… (no spoilers here…)!

This is truly a series that I could keep writing forever, and ever, and ever. Who knows? I might yet write more futuristic novels. There is certainly the scope to do so. I could keep doing this and fundamentally, the reason is that I truly love it. I didn’t write this series with any expectation, any kind of plan, except to just write what I wanted to ‒ and I did.

Peace out.

If you enjoyed The Hunger Games, Divergent, perhaps even Utopia, this might be a series for you! This is a futuristic world and the premise is the world is 40 years clear of pandemic – but a conglomeration which took advantage of the devastation is still in charge… and guess what… they had something to do with the virus escaping!

This is a series of sex, lies, deceit, family, conspiracy, action, chase, adventure, love, strong characters, villains and assassins! It’s a series I’m in love with – I hope you check it out!

Peace out.

I was both the Principal and me, needing to suffuse the two to become something more powerful than I had ever been before. I saw the images of all I loved and ran at the group, holding a hand out for Mara to stay where she was. As I neared the pack, I reached down for the instrument hidden within my knee-high boot. It swished and gleamed against the twinkling skies overheard. I heard the emissaries take a quick intake of breath and licked my lips at the sight of their fear.

My eyes widened and I concluded they knew their time was up.

While we engaged in battle, it was clear they wanted me captured, not killed. Oh can you imagine if they brainwashed an asset like me for their team? So while they struggled to get a hold on me, I hit them systematically, making them all dizzy with my blows.

I couldn’t attempt a single kill until I had them all weak.

I started by injuring them all, making them woozy as they lost profuse amounts of blood from their arms or legs. My weapon was sharpened enough to cut through anything but diamond. The smell of their chemically enhanced blood turned my stomach and I was pretty unflinching usually.

Sure they were done for, I began.

Their throats.

While they stumbled around and tried to keep up with me, I took them one by one, flying through the air, using their bodies as a podium to execute my attack, ending their lives with swift and rapid strokes.

I surveyed the carnage afterward and flicked the weapon to remove all the blood. I had just killed five of the Alpha Pack, the most brutal of all Officium’s emissaries.

No other could do what I could. Well, perhaps one once could have done, but he was yet to rejuvenate.

My heart pounded in my chest and I felt the adrenalin race around my brain so fast I could barely see clearly anymore. Mara snapped me out of the trance, shouting, ‘The door is open. Come on!’

Miraculously, the Rascal had bypassed all levels of security. I ran across the walkway back to my lover and we entered a corridor that led to the control room. Mara slammed the door behind us, while I replaced my deadly weapon.

OUT NOW… the Operator

Who is the OPERATOR? You can find out more by clicking here

THE OPERATOR, UNITY VOL.3, is the third of four parts. The series is most effective read in sequence but for those who are more familiar with my erotic works, THE OPERATOR, may be more for you. It contains as much suspense, twists and turns as the other UNITY books but there is a slower feel to this instalment, a bridge between the action and thrills of the other books, and the dark, frightening conclusion that is THE SENTIENT.

the radicalIn the first instalment of S.M. Lynch’s dystopian adult romance series…

The year is 2063 and Big Brother has control; 40 years previously Officium took over global intelligence, government, supply and policing. In the wake of viral disaster they offered to return the world to order, but at a cost.

New York journalist Seraph Maddon has been trying to link the death of her British parents to the group that has rinsed the world of all hope – but more than ten years of investigations have turned up nothing. It is only when she leaves her job behind to travel to England for a funeral that she starts to unpick her family’s involvement in a movement known as UNITY.

Someone intends Seraph to cross paths with Dr Ryken Hardy and when they meet, it is not long before they are running for their lives – their combination a significant threat to those who believe themselves beyond surveillance.

Seraph’s rollercoaster journey of reawakening and newfound love is a battle to finally break free of the shackles of oppression. Secrets and lies are the norm amongst a frightened population and the truth may be best kept hidden.

But someone is determined… the truth will out, for better or worse…

The story continues in UNITY Vol.2, THE INFORMANT

EXCERPT

“All we know is that we were born into corruption and madness and that nothing can move forward until the veil is lifted. Knowledge is freedom, and if the world knew the truth for a certainty, I’m sure people would rise up against Officium finally. But without definitive proof, we can do nothing. We need hard evidence otherwise anything else might send panic through the population again. I know one thing for sure at least, they will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden…”

the informantIn the second instalment of S.M. Lynch’s dystopian adult romance series…

Exploding the secrets of 2023 was just the beginning. The Operator’s legacy has yet to be fully realized and there are those among the resistance who are having a hard time following orders…

Camille knows a few secrets guaranteed to create havoc if they escaped. While she watches two families come together to prevent Officium’s resurgence, she hovers on the brink of despair, desperate to be released of her responsibilities once and for all.

Meanwhile Seraph starts a new life in Paris, hoping to leave all her ghosts in the past. However, dark truths threaten to tear her world apart and a dramatic confrontation in the Catacombs spells tragedy for one UNITY member.

Still the journalist, Seraph is always listening… and always watching… and dark secrets seem abundant…

New Book Out Now

the radicalGuys and Gals,

A re-energised, re-edited version of my dystopian romance series has just begun to make its way in the world. You can visit unitynovels.com to find out more. Or you can paste/click this link to be taken to your country’s Amazon site .

How do I get you to start reading a series? How do I get you to start reading full stop? There’s a lot out there available to read. And a series this long and this epic is an investment for sure!

I guess all I can really do is tell you what these books might do for you. Firstly, they may show you how me, Sarah Lynch, sowed the seeds of my writing career. THE RADICAL may be re-edited and souped up, but the essence of it is still my first novel. I think if you read it, you’ll see how very strongly this book took me, swept me off my feet and controlled me to the extent that I had to write it, had to get it down. It was an idea screaming so loudly in my ears. I continually had to fight off the urge until I just gave in and wrote it.

How did it become a series? What makes a series? How do you define A SERIES? Or is it just loads of words separated into volumes that should actually be one book…?

I have given this so much thought recently. So much thought. I have read a lot of series thinking “My god this could have been one book, or even a novella!” The truth is, well, a reader’s enjoyment is subjective for so many reasons. A lot of readers want to be carried off with an easy read, wheras many others prefer to be lumped in the realms of a thriller or mystery they can twist their minds with. I know that sometimes – my own experience is this – if we are constantly reading, reading, reading all the damn time, it gets tired. The same goes for writing. We need breaks in between the two. So if you come to something without any expectations and just let your eyes wash over it, let it sink into your head, you just don’t know what the feeling may be after you finish reading/and or writing. If you get me? 🙂

So, these books are a series and what defines them as a series is that they are a collection of puzzles. Each book is a puzzle to be unraveled and unfurled in itself. The puzzle will not be answered in volume one, nor volume two, or three, or even four. It will be solved when you go back and read them all a second time and go, “How did I not see these hints?”

Oh, and it’s only a few cents/pence at the moment! I am not underselling myself, not at all. Money is not important in this writing world. Investment in words – which costs nothing – is.

ENJOY!
